Dropout in school – no option

Dropout in school – no option

  • “The dropout crisis is just the tip of an iceberg. What it doesn’t count are all the kids who are in school but being disengaged from it, who don’t enjoy it, who don’t get any real benefit from it.”

In USA, some college schools report 60 % dropout. In Norway the figures are high. In Finland Close to zero. Why ?

Education based on conformity, not diversity must go wrong, Sir Ken Robinson says.

“Children are not suffering from psychological condition, they are suffering from childhood”.

These are statement from Sir Ken Robinsons talk shown in the video here. He outlines 3 principles crucial for the human mind to flourish — and how current education culture works against them.

Rising Three kids, and see their way through the Norwegian school-system engage me in how the school-system work, and do not work. I find the dropout rate too high at 16-19 years age, and will try to my best for securing my own kids and helping others.

To all my friends out there not reading Norwegian, I choose to share this video with this little intro in English so you could enjoy some of my article here on my page. If my English is not Perfect, I did as best I Could.

This TED-video is according to Jeremey Donovan’s book «How to deliver a TED talk» one of the best TED-talks ever. I have just read the book and I really recomend it. The skill to do a good speach, in front of 2 , 20 or 200 is a gift that can and will change Your life, and is Worth to study.

«Everybody has an idea worh spreading» Quote Jeremey Donovan.

Enjoy Sir Ken Robinson’s speech.
